The Youth Summer Program is a recreational program held during the summer at elementary and middle school sites throughout Hanover County. Activities include arts & crafts, sports & games, field trips, special visitors and more. Find out more information here.

Program Dates & Fees

Camp runs Monday – Thursday, 8AM – 4:30PM.
Extended Camp available at some locations, 4:30PM – 5:30PM.

Camp Locations

Camp is held at elementary and middle school sites throughout Hanover County. List of locations will be available early spring 2012.

 

Registration

Online, mail in and drop off registration (Hanover County residents) for all sessions and locations for Youth Summer Program will begin on April 17, 2012 at 6:00am.

Please be advised that all registrations received prior to 6am on Tuesday, April 17 via USPS mail, drop box, or fax will be processed in random order, beginning at this time. No preference will be given to date received.

*Registration for non-Hanover County residents begins May 1, 2012 as space permits.

If you have registered for a Hanover Parks and Recreation program or rented a facility since 2008, you already have an Account PIN and Login ID. You may call the Parks and Recreation office at (804) 365-7150 Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., or if you have an email address on file you can use the "Forgot My Password" function, and it will immediately be emailed to you.

 

Financial Assistance

The department offers Fun Funds, a financial assistance program of Hanover County, with funds available to assist with the cost of the Youth Summer Program offered by Hanover County Parks and Recreation Department. Eligibility for financial assistance is based on eligibility for the USDA’s Free/Reduced Lunch Program. Fun Funds Scholarship Applications are available, find out more information here. The deadline to apply for 2012 Fun Funds is March 30, 2012.

 

Therapeutic Recreation Aide Assistance Program

Children with disabilities who are interested in securing the assistance of a Therapeutic Recreation Aide should inquire about the Therapeutic Recreation Aide Assistance Program. Packets available here and will be received on a first come, first served basis. Please be advised that assistance from Therapeutic Recreation Aides are limited, so be sure to submit your completed packet soon.
