Hanover County's home page calendar includes meetings that are led by the County's elected officials or their appointees and staffed by employees. The public is invited to attend these meetings but official public hearings are held only by the Board of Supervisors, the Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals. Board of Supervisors Meetings

The Board generally meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, with the general exception of July, August and December, in the Board Room of the County Administration Building. The Board also schedules special meetings.

Board of Zoning Appeals Meetings

The Board of Zoning Appeals generally meets on the second Tuesday of the month in the Board Room of the County Administration Building. Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m.

Community Services Board Meetings

The Community Services Board generally meets on the fourth Monday of the month in the Hanover Human Services Conference Room. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m.

Hanover County Historical Commission

Hanover County Historical Commission, serves as a consultative and advisory body for the County. The Commission meets in the Planning Conference Room, 2nd floor of the Administration Building, at 7 p.m.

High Speed Internet Committee

Established by the Board of Supervisors in January 2010, this citizens committee will look at defining the scope on what can be done to help increase access to high-speed internet. High-speed internet services are provided by the private sector. This committee generally meets 6-8 p.m. at the Hanover County Parks and Recreation office, 13017 Taylor Complex Lane, Ashland VA 23005; Taylor Park - Classroom 1. Historic Courthouse Area Advisory Committee

The Historic Courthouse Area Advisory Committee meets as needed to discuss issues and make recommendations regarding improvements to the old Courthouse and Jail, including interior improvements. Their recommendations are reviewed by the Architectural Review Board.  The Committee meets in the Planning Conference Room, 2nd floor of the Administration Building, at 5:30 p.m.

Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee

The HCPRAC meetings are held on the fourth Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m., at the Parks & Rec. Admin. office on Taylor Complex Lane, Ashland. Meetings are held January, March, May, July, September, and November and are open to the public.
