Hanover County Government Surplus Property -
Internet Sales
Pursuant to Virginia Code Section 55-210-18
Effective Spring 2011, Hanover County Government announces a new advertisement process for public auctions (internet sales) of surplus property (“items”). Internet Sales will be ongoing and when items are ready for sale will be posted as described below. All bidding will be in US Dollars ($)
Employees of Hanover County, the Hanover County School Board, Hanover County Constitutional Officers, the Pamunkey Regional Jail Authority, Court Services, Hanover County Courts, and the Department of Social Services and their immediate families are not allowed to buy items.
MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS consisting mainly of information technology, office equipment, furniture, cell phones and other miscellaneous. Terms and Conditions of sales will be posted on the Commonwealth of Virginia, Office of Surplus Property’s website:

FLEET ITEMS consisting mainly of vehicles and heavy equipment. Hanover County Government has contracted with Motley’s Auctions, Inc. dba Motley’s Auction & Realty Group as the County’s Internet Sales and Services Contractor.

Additional Terms and Conditions of sales for Fleet Items:
“NO EXCEPTIONS!” All bidding will be in US Dollars ($). All sales are final, no refunds, no returns and no exchanges.
All items are subject to change and are sold “As is” “Where is” No Warranty. Hanover County and the County’s Internet Sales and Services Contractor make no warranty of any kind expressed or implied, as to the condition of the items offered for sale.
Items will be sold to the highest bidder conforming to the bidding process. If items are not sold, at the County’s discretion, the County’s Internet Sales and Services Contractor reserves the right to sell items individually, by groups, lots, or place the unsold items back up for sale at a later time. The County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.
The Buyer assumes all responsibility for pick up and removal of items purchased including any costs associated.
