All dogs four months old or older are required to display a current annual County license. Single dog licenses are always on sale and kennel licenses
go on sale December of each year for the upcoming calendar. The County Treasurer mails a reminder
notice to all citizens who purchased a dog tag in the previous
year.
The County sells one, two and three year dog licenses, which are valid for an entire calendar year as long as the rabies vaccination remains current. The prices are as follows:
The County also sells 20 dog kennel licenses for $35.00, 50 dog kennel licenses for $50.00 and Dangerous dog licenses for $50.00. Dangerous dog licenses must be approved by the Animal Control Office and can only be purchased at the Animal Control Office.
In order to purchase a license, the owner must present proof of
a current rabies inoculation for the dog that is valid through the
date of purchase.
